Priority Species
UK BAP priority species are...
Plants and animals, globally threatened and/or rapidly declining in the UK (by more than 50% in the last 25 years).
In 2007 there were 382 UK BAP priority species. Each has its own UK Species Action Plan (SAP) which identifies what needs to be done to reverse its rapid decline in number.
In Kent, there were 85 UK BAP priority species recorded in the Kent Red Data Book, 2000.
Due to the publication in 2008 of the new UKBAP List of Priority Species, we now have a revised list of UKBAP species present in Kent:

This list was put together in October 2009 by the Kent & Medway Biological Records Centre and the interactive table below will be gradually updated.
